THANK YOU!!!
Cairo:OS and Neuro:OS Are Coming!

Thank you for your incredible support during this campaign. We could not make this game without you, and now the :Otherscape universe will expand both in meatspace -- into the rich and dangerous Megacity of Cairo -- and in cyberspace, as we explore the virtual matrix in the year 20XX!!!

Adversary Deck Unlocked!

Right at the tail end of the campaign, we reached the $300K mark and unlocked the Adversary Deck, which will be added to every Box Set pledge and above. With these cards you can quickly whip out Challenges and launch them at your crew, whether you play in Cairo, in Neuro, or in both!

Pledge Manager Opens In One Month!

We will share an update in two weeks with the exact date and details of the pledge manager and the late pledges phase. Once the pledge manager closes, we will also send out all the digital files of existing products such as the :Otherscape core book (Metro:Otherscape), Tokyo:Otherscape, City of Mist, etc. For any other questions on inquiries, reach out to us at [email protected] .

Free Demo Game Still Available!

But you don't have to wait for all that to play. If you haven't played :Otherscape yet, or have not samples the wonders of Cairo:OS, go ahead and download the Cairo:OS free demo game with free characters and job (adventure), and start your adventure as mythic mercs!

Kickstarter Ending Soon!

In just a few hours, the Cairo:Otherscape and Neuro:Otherscape Kickstarter will reach its conclusion! This is the last chance to receive the Kickstarter-only gift, the Loadout Deck. If you're already pledging to the campaign, than you are all set! Pledging for the Box Set tier or higher also entitles you to a physical version of the deck.

Unlocked: Neuro Theme Kits

We’ve crossed the $275K stretch goal, which means Neuro:OS will now have even more theme kits! Choose from 15 additional pre-generated themes of cyberspace walks of life, technologies, or legendary powers for your characters, including a personal army of viruses that can infect the web on command, or VR Pegasus (or other Apotheosis cryptid mount) that swiftly carries you between layers of the net.

The Adversary Deck is Almost Here!

If we hit our $300K stretch goal, Each Box Set will include the Adversary Deck, a pack of 40 tarot-sized cards, featuring Challenges that your crew may encounter on the job. The deck has a mix of scenarios, some taking place in the dystopian streets of Cairo while others take you all the way to the apotheosis-afflicted Cyberspace!

Adversary cards are designed with a dual purpose; one side features the adversary’s image, name, and some flavor to be shared with the players, and the other side contains all of the adversary’s game mechanics for the MC’s eyes only.

That's it for this update but stay tuned for more announcements in this last stretch of the campaign!

Greeting Hieroglyphic Cryptographers,

Ending Soon!

In just a couple of days, the campaign will reach its conclusion. We are truly humbled by your support, comments, and ideas; you’ve made Cairo:OS and Neuro:OS better than we could have imagined.

Once the campaign reaches its end, many backer-only perks will no longer be available, including a special backer-only gift—the Loadout Deck—a pack of 30 cards, each depicting a unique artifact or spell from Cairo:OS, or a hardware or software from Neuro:OS. So if you’re still on the fence, know that right now you’re getting the best bundles and prices, along with our gratitude for helping unlock even more stretch goals and making the game better!

Everything You’ve Unlocked

Your support so far has been phenomenal, unlocking a slew of new content and physical items, including:

  • 100 extra Loadout Items including spells, artifacts, apps, and hardware
  • 5 Maps and 20 Tokens for exciting encounters
  • 15 Extra Theme Kits for Cairo professions and ability sets
  • Two new adventures (Cairo and Neuro) for you cyberpunk mercs
  • 10 extra character folios (pregens), for a total of 20!
  • Cybersapce Domain Generator - to randomly generate Neuro job locations

Next Up

We have two exciting goals on the horizon:

  • $275,000 - More Neuro Theme Kits: Choose from 15 additional pre-generated themes of cyberspace walks of life, technologies, or legendary powers for your characters, including a personal army of viruses that can infect the web on command, or VR Pegasus (or other Apotheosis cryptid mount) that swiftly carries you between layers of the net.
  • $300,000 - The Adversary Deck: A pack of 40 tarot-sized cards, featuring engaging Challenges that your crew may encounter on the job. One side features the adversary’s image, name, and some flavor to be shared with the players, and the other side contains all of the adversary’s game mechanics for the MC’s eyes only. Handy at the table!

We have more exciting goals to roll out, keep an eye out for the next updates!

The Jinn are Here!

The Jinn are unique entities that exist in cyberspace and meatspace simultaneously. We are excited to present HĀLA, one of 20 pre-generated characters you’ll get with your Cairo//Neuro character pack!

“Just as fire was tamed, so too can information be controlled. I have been to the Spirals. I have looked out across the undulating and mesmerizing Intelligent Sea. I have burned the information that offends me, stopping it from affecting the world you dwell in. The world I protect and halfway dwell within.”

Explore HĀLA's character sheet with the rest of the Cairo:OS Free Demo Game, linked on the campaign page!

A Gift For Backers: Free Loadout Deck!

You’ve blown us away with your love for :Otherscape at these uncertain times, so to celebrate crossing 2000 backers, we’ve decided to throw in something extra to reward our beloved Kickstarter supporters!

(The Loadout Deck will be available for purchase separately after the campaign.)

What is the Loadout Deck?

A pack of 30 cards, each depicting a unique artifact or spell from Cairo:OS, or a hardware or software from Neuro:OS. Each Loadout item will have its own tag set (4 tags + flaw), but also its own SPECIAL that can be loaded up to further enhance its usefulness - making this an addition to the game’s Loadout mechanics!

What is the Adversary Deck?

You may know this one from City of Mist (Deck of Legends) or Legend In The Mist (The Twilight Deck) -  a pack of 40 tarot-sized cards, featuring engaging Challenges that your crew may encounter on the job.

Adversary cards are designed with a dual purpose; one side features the adversary’s image, name, and some flavor to be shared with the players, and the other side contains all of the adversary’s game mechanics for the MC’s eyes only.

That’s it for this update, see you on the stream!

Neuro Rush: Geimu-Dome X Livestream!
11 months ago – Mon, May 05, 2025 at 12:37:10 PM

Hello Glyphstreamers!

Your Next Job is in Cyberspace

Under the hot simulated lights of the Tokyo-based Geimu-Dome, violent icons fight it out in twisted battle arenas with their actual lives on the line. But the game isn’t always fair and you’ve just been hired to rig the game from the inside.

We’re just a few backers away from unlocking the next stretch goal, which expands Neuro:Otherscape with a sixth cyberspace adventure!

Not just any online infiltration job, the Geimu-Dome heist throws the crew into the action in a gladiatorial reality show where audience opinion can change the tide of battle. This adventure is an homage to media-focused cyberpunk dystopian tales such as The Running Man, Rollerball, Death Race 2000, and Squid Game.

In this adventure your crew can:

  • Hack and harness your way through show security by hamming it up to the viewers at home.
  • Make a name for yourself as a streaming reality star as you take on famous gladiators, weapon in hand.
  • Revel in video game enhanced gladiatorial ultra violence!
  • Rig the game to win or lose just as you get on with your real goal: hacking the system.

Poll #3 Winners

In our last update, we asked you for your ideas of cyberspace loadout items and you gave us an entire arsenal! It was a tough competition, but we chose the following three to appear in the Neuro:Otherscape book:

  • Unmasker. This loadout makes it impossible for other users to appear as anything but their real life selves.
  • Digital Hamsters. A program designed to look like a hamster that multiplies rapidly and slows down a target.
  • Epis International's Pinnit Virtual Assistant. An archaic intelligent UI program from the old web that has reemerged in cyberspace.

Poll #4 Cairo:Otherscape Challenges

Many foes can stand in your crew’s way on their ventures through Cairo, the Ennead Consortium and the Red Mercury Company make for obvious adversaries, but there are many others:

  • El Nadeha, watery sirens that haunt the canals and rivers of Cairo
  • El Salawa, a cyclopean animal version of the god Set which stalks the deserts
  • Teka-Her, a monstrous serpent that guards the many gateways to the afterlife and esoteric areas of cyberspace

We’d like to brainstorm with the community once again, so our question this time is: What are some Challenges you can imagine for Cairo:OS?

Reply in the main page comments! Make sure you both share your ideas AND vote for the ideas shared by others --  the winners will be included in the book! (subject, of course, to our revisions and tweaks).

Neuro Livestream this Wednesday, 4pm ET!

Join Game Creator Amit Moshe and MC Kevin Carpenter as we jack in and explore the second book in the Cairo:Otherscape Kickstarter -- Neuro:OS, and delve into all that it will offer your online adventure in the year 20XX!
We're going live on Wednesday May 7th at 1pm PT | 4pm ET | 10pm CET !

---

That's all for this update, stay tuned for the next update where we announce the winners of the fourth poll!
